Information access controls

How donors can restrict access to their information

Cadana Fertility gives donor accounts privacy controls for deciding which categories of information may be available to permitted clinics, professionals, administrators, or other approved accounts inside the platform. This page explains what can be restricted, how to change the settings, and what to expect after information access is withdrawn.

1. What information restriction means

Restricting information access means changing your data availability settings so selected categories are marked as withdrawn instead of available. When a category is withdrawn, Cadana Fertility limits access to that category inside the platform for accounts that depend on your availability permission.

2. Who this page is mainly for

This page is mainly for donor accounts and users whose fertility, health, profile, document, or chat records may be viewed by permitted clinics or professionals. Clinic, professional, and administrator accounts may also see access changes because restrictions affect what donor information is available to them.

3. How to open the settings

Log in to your Cadana Fertility account, open the dashboard, go to Settings, and look for the privacy or data availability controls. If your account type has access to these controls, you will see categories that can be saved as available or withdrawn.

4. How to withdraw access

Turn off the category you want to restrict, then save the data availability changes. The dashboard should show the category as withdrawn after saving. If you change your mind before saving, use the reset or revert option where available.

5. Profile Information

This category covers name, username, profile details, profile photo, cover image, and general profile media. Withdrawing profile information can prevent permitted viewers from opening or using parts of your donor profile that depend on profile availability.

6. Contact Information

This category covers email addresses, phone numbers, country, state, city, and saved addresses. Withdrawing contact information helps limit access to direct contact details inside Cadana Fertility, but it does not erase contact details already held by a clinic or professional outside the platform.

7. Fertility and Health Information

This category covers medical history, donor history, fertility details, semen or oocyte donation information, and sensitive health records. Withdrawing fertility and health information can stop permitted viewers from seeing donor medical-history and donor-history pages where the app checks this availability setting.

8. Appointment Information

This category covers booking, consultation, reminder, and appointment-related details where those features are available. Withdrawing appointment information may limit access to appointment context, scheduling details, or consultation-related information shown inside the app.

9. Uploaded Documents

This category covers files, images, document names, document descriptions, and document-linked media. Withdrawing document access can prevent permitted viewers from opening uploaded files through Cadana Fertility, including files used as supporting documents or media linked from the document area.

10. Chat Messages

This category covers messages, conversation records, and chat attachments connected to your account. Withdrawing chat message availability can affect whether other users can start or continue permitted conversations with you and whether unread message counts include your messages.

11. Clinic and Professional Sharing

This category controls whether your eligible details can be made available to fertility clinics and professionals. Withdrawing clinic and professional sharing may prevent clinics or professionals from viewing donor details that otherwise depend on your permission to share with care-related accounts.

12. What happens after saving

After you save changes, the new availability status should apply to platform checks that use those settings. Some pages may show a withdrawn notice, hide sensitive sections, block document access, limit chat access, or prevent a clinic/professional from seeing selected donor information.

13. What restriction does not do

Restriction is not the same as account deletion. It does not automatically delete your account, erase all stored records, remove backups, cancel clinic obligations, or remove copies already accessed or stored outside Cadana Fertility. To delete your account, use the Account Deletion page.

14. Previously shared information

If a clinic, professional, administrator, or permitted user viewed, downloaded, recorded, or lawfully retained information before you withdrew access, Cadana Fertility may not be able to remove that outside copy. Contact the relevant clinic or professional directly about records they hold outside the platform.

15. Clinic and medical record obligations

Fertility clinics, laboratories, doctors, counsellors, and other professionals may have legal, medical, regulatory, patient-safety, or record-keeping duties. Your platform restriction does not override a clinic's independent duty to keep records it is required to retain.

16. Impact on donor visibility

Withdrawing profile, fertility-health, document, or clinic-sharing access can reduce your visibility to clinics and professionals. It may also make your donor profile less useful for review, communication, screening, matching, or workflow decisions inside the app.

17. Impact on communication

Withdrawing chat message availability can limit app-based communication connected to your account. If you are actively communicating with a clinic or professional, consider notifying them through an appropriate channel before restricting chat access.

18. Restricting documents used as media

Some documents may be used as profile photo or cover image sources. Restricting document access may affect whether others can open the underlying document, but the profile or cover display may still depend on how the media reference is stored. If you do not want an image used as profile media, update the media setting or remove the linked document where available.

19. Turning access back on

If you later want clinics or professionals to see a category again, return to the same data availability settings, turn the category back on, and save. Once restored, eligible viewers may regain access depending on their account type, approval status, and platform permissions.

20. If the settings are missing

If you do not see data availability controls, your account type may not expose them, your account may need approval, or the feature may not be available on the page you are viewing. Contact support with your account email or username and explain that you want to restrict information access.

21. If a clinic can still see information

If you restricted a category but believe a clinic or professional can still see it inside Cadana Fertility, refresh the page, log out and back in, and confirm the category is saved as withdrawn. If it continues, contact support with the category name and the page where access still appears available.

22. Privacy policy

For more detail about how Cadana Fertility handles personal data, uploaded documents, account information, health records, device data, and retention, review the Privacy Policy.

23. Medical disclaimer

Some restricted information may relate to fertility, donor history, medical history, uploaded health documents, and clinic communication. Review the Medical Disclaimer for the limits of health-related information in Cadana Fertility.
